Coach John Broyles 1942-1967

John Broyles was the Hilltopper baseball coach for 26 years. At 341 career victories Coach Broyles is second on the list of  All-Time winningest coach in program history. Six conference championships (1947, 1948, 1949, 1951, 1955 and 1961), 2 co-titles (1960, 1962), six regional championships (1951, 5 in a row 1960-1964), eleven district championships, ten state tournament appearances, and three state championships Coach Broyles brought back to Johnson City. Also, Coach Broyles' 1949 team won the Southeastern Championship. This tournament included champions of seven states.
